Technology packages

Technoloy packages

Technology packages combine software functions that are required for automating machine engineering processes which are used in the most varied industry sectors. These packages are loaded onto the controller upon configuring and expand the basic functionality to include additional system functions. The functions of technology packages can be conveniently accessed during engineering via the SCOUT command library.

SIMOTION Motion Control technology package

PLCopen

The comprehensive Motion Control functions provide open, highly flexible possibilities to influence the application programming and assure the operator that he will be able to implement future Motion Control applications placing superior requirements on the process. The SIMOTION Motion Control technology package comprises the following technological functions:

  • Motion Control Basic
    Control of speed axes and functions including cam controller, actual value acquisition with external encoders, ...

  • Positioning – POS
    Control of positioning axes with position-controlled positioning, motion profiles as well as force/pressure control

  • Synchronism/electronic gear – GEAR
    Control of synchronous axes following a master value, which can be synchronized in various ways.

  • Cam disk – CAM
    Processing of cam disks that can be conveniently created graphically in the engineering system or calculated in the controller during processing

  • Path interpolation – PATH
    2D and 3D interpolation with various kinematics

  • Supplementary technological functions
    Further technological functions, for example, controller object.

The functions of the technology package can be accessed via additional language commands and system variables. This allows to conveniently and consistently program motion sequences.

Further, the Motion Control technology package comprises additional language commands in form of certified single-axis and multi-axis blocks as well as extended functions acc. to PLCopen.

SIMOTION technology package for temperature control – (TControl)

The SIMOTION technology package for temperature control comprises temperature channels providing comprehensive functions. These functions are also accessed via additional language commands and system variables.

SIMOTION technology package for Drive Control Chart (DCC)

The SIMOTION technology package for Drive Control Chart (DCC) provides a library comprising so-called Drive Control Blocks (DCBs). These blocks allow to conveniently configure open-loop and closed-loop control functions graphically using a DCC editor that is optionally integrated in SCOUT.

Sector-specific technology packages are also provided.
